Sad Song Studio Presents: Best of Volume 1

Highway 99 Blues Club, Alaskan Way, Seattle

This musical celebration features the creative output from six amazing artists, who all recorded at Sad Song Studio in sunny Burien, Washington, from 2013 – 2014. A cross genre showcase, this event will transport the listener into aural Nirvana, and shine a light on the amazing musical community that has arisen from this humble recording house. Castle Dwellers is a Seattle based Sunshine Rock quartet fronted by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jared Hauser. Their infectious tunes are reminiscent of The Kinks + Ryan Adams + The Decemberists. http://castledwellers.bandcamp.com/

Jean Harnett is equal parts ‘Mississippi Delta’ and the wilds of West Ireland. Her soulful voice and songwriting will stir comparisons to Damien Rice, Alison Krauss, Glen Hansard, and St. Vincent. http://jeanharnett.bandcamp.com/

Alice Howe is a native of Boston, Mass., and is a singer-songwriter in the purest sense. Here clear voice and emotive storytelling draw inspiration from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and Gillian Welch. www.alicehowe.com
